Pageant Training

Pageant Training

The Prom and Pageant Place offers Pageant Training
with one-on-one pageant instruction

Classes are designed to help you understand what the judges are looking for and how to present yourself on stage and in the interview. Classes are for one hour and are held at the store after regular business hours. All classes are taught by the store owner who has competed in many local and state pageants. She currently helps plan, choreograph and judge pageants including Miss Alabama Outstanding Teen and Miss Alabama Pageant preliminaries. She can help you with anything pageant related from beauty walk and interview, to talent, swimsuit, even opening number.

We are happy to announce that Pageant Training classes are also now being taught by Courtney Porter, Miss Alabama 2011.

Courtney Porter Orazine is the 26 year old native of Clay, AL. Courtney is the daughter of Denis Porter and the late Michelle Porter. She is the 2005 graduate of Clay-Chalkville High School and the 2009 graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication. During her time at Auburn University, Courtney was a 4-year member of the Tiger Paws Dance Team. She was also a member of the Lambda Delta, and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Societies. Courtney began her pageant career her sophomore year in high school while competing in her school pageant Miss Clay-Chalkville, which is a prelim to the Miss Alabama pageant. She won her senior year and went to compete at Miss Alabama for the first time. In the years following, she held the titles of Miss Talladega County, Miss Smiths Station, Miss Chattahoochee Valley (3rd Runner-up to Miss Alabama), Miss Painted Rock (Top 10 at Miss Alabama), and Miss Leeds Area. Her platform while competing in the Miss America Organization was Mentoring At-Risk Youth through the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. In 2011, Courtney’s dreams and goals were finally reached when she was awarded the title of Miss Alabama. She got the once in a lifetime opportunity to go compete for Miss America 2012 and finished in the top 11. Throughout the 6 years competing in the Miss America Organization, she was able to accumulate over $40,000 in scholarships to offset the cost of her college education. Courtney now works for the United Way of Central Alabama as a Relationship Manager in the Resource Development department. She married ┬áher college sweetheart, Scott, in May of 2013.
